Description

A flavorful grilled flank steak marinated in balsamic glaze, paired with fresh tomatoes, mozzarella, and basil.


Ingredients

  • pounds flank steak
  • ½ cup balsamic vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 8 ounces fresh mozzarella balls, halved
  • 1 cup fresh basil leaves

Instructions

  1. Marinate the Steak: In a medium bowl, whisk together balsamic vinegar, honey, Italian seasoning, minced garlic, salt, and pepper. Place flank steak in a resealable bag, pour marinade over it, seal the bag, and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour.
  2. Preheat the Grill: Heat the grill to medium-high heat.
  3. Grill the Steak: Remove the steak from the marinade and grill for 5-7 minutes on each side or until desired doneness.
  4. Rest and Slice: Let the steak rest for 10 minutes, then slice against the grain.
  5. Assemble the Caprese: Combine halved cherry tomatoes, mozzarella, and basil in a bowl. Season with salt and pepper and drizzle with olive oil.
  6. Serve and Enjoy: Arrange sliced flank steak on a platter and top with the Caprese mixture.

Notes

Don’t skip the marinating time for the best flavor. A grill pan can be used if a grill is not available.
