Ingredients

  • 2 cups pretzels, crushed
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 container (8 oz) whipped topping
  • 2 packages (3 oz each) strawberry gelatin
  • 2 cups boiling water
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, sliced

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Combine the crushed pretzels, melted butter, and 1/4 cup sugar in a medium bowl. Press into the bottom of an 8×8-inch pan.
  3. Bake for 10 minutes, then allow to cool.
  4. Mix the softened cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth, then fold in the whipped topping.
  5. Spread the cream cheese mixture over the cooled pretzel crust.
  6. Dissolve the strawberry gelatin in boiling water, then stir in the sliced strawberries.
  7. Pour the mixture over the cream cheese layer.
  8. Refrigerate for at least 240 minutes before serving.

Let the pretzel crust cool completely before adding the cream cheese layer to ensure clean layers. You can customize the salad with different fruit toppings or flavors of gelatin.
