Ingredients

  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
  • 1/2 cup cherry pie filling
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • Powdered sugar (optional, for dusting)
  • Vanilla extract (optional)
  • Cinnamon (optional)
  • Lemon zest (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Roll out the puff pastry on a floured surface to about 1/4 inch thickness.
  3. Cut the pastry into 3-inch squares.
  4. In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese with powdered sugar and vanilla extract, if desired. Beat until smooth.
  5. Place a tablespoon of cream cheese filling in the center of each pastry square, followed by a spoonful of cherry pie filling.
  6. Fold the corners of the pastry squares over the filling and pinch to seal the edges.
  7. Arrange on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for about 20 minutes until golden brown.
