Description

A delightful fusion of Italian and sushi flavors featuring prosciutto, mozzarella, and fresh herbs wrapped in sushi rice.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 250 g (2 cups) Sushi Rice
  • 60 ml (¼ cup) Rice Vinegar
  • 100 g (3.5 oz) Prosciutto
  • 150 g (5 oz) Fresh Mozzarella
  • 10 Fresh Basil Leaves
  • 1 large Avocado
  • 1 large Bell Pepper
  • 1 tbsp Olive Oil

Instructions

  1. Rinse sushi rice under cold water until the water runs clear. Cook according to rice cooker instructions (about 20 minutes) and cool for 10 minutes.
  2. Mix rice vinegar and olive oil in a small bowl. Fold this into the warm rice (about 5 minutes).
  3. Chop prosciutto, mozzarella, avocado, and bell pepper into thin strips.
  4. Lay a sheet of nori on a bamboo mat, spread a thin layer of sushi rice across. Layer prosciutto, mozzarella, avocado, basil, and bell pepper in the center.
  5. Roll the sushi tightly, moistening the edge of the nori to seal.
  6. Slice the roll into 6-8 pieces with a sharp knife.

Notes

For creamier texture, substitute fresh mozzarella with burrata. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
