- 3 medium Russet potatoes (about 600g)
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour (optional)
- Neutral oil for frying (vegetable, sunflower, or avocado)
Instructions
- Grate the potatoes and soak in cold water for 5–10 minutes.
- Drain and dry thoroughly using a kitchen towel.
- Mix the potatoes with cornstarch, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and flour (if using).
- Shape into 6 equal patties.
- Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat; fry patties for 3–4 minutes per side.
- Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain and season with salt before serving hot.
Notes
For extra crispiness, let the grated potatoes sit in the fridge for an hour before cooking.
