Crispy Mini Blooming Onions in Air Fryer


Description

Crispy, mini-blooming onions make a delightful and delicious snack that is easy to make using the air fryer. They’re crunchy on the outside but soft inside. They are delicious to share and are perfect for family gatherings or parties.


Ingredients

  • 2 large onions
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 teaspoon of paprika

Instructions

  1. Peel the onions, cutting off the ends. Cut every onion into 12- 16 wedges without cutting through the entire length.
  2. The air fryer should be heated to 400°F (200°C) for 5 minutes.
  3. Establish an area for breading with one cup of flour a second in buttermilk. Finally, another of the breadcrumbs that have been mixed with the spice paprika.
  4. Dip each onion into flour. Dip it into buttermilk and then coat the onion with breadcrumbs.
  5. Place the onions coated in the basket of your air fryer and let them air fry for 12–15 minutes, flipping the basket halfway through, until crisp as well as golden brown.
  6. Allow to cool and serve with dip sauce.

Notes

Tips to Make Crispy Mini Blooming Onions

  • To add more crunch, double coat onions, repeating the breadcrumbs and buttermilk steps.
  • Don’t overcrowd the basket of your air fryer. This will allow the onions to cook evenly and get crispy.
