Description

Crispy Heissluftfritteuse Langos is a delightfully crispy Hungarian flatbread that captures the essence of traditional street food while being healthier. This recipe is easy to whip up and perfect for any occasion!


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet (about 2 ¼ teaspoons) active dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ¾ cup warm water (or milk)
  • Oil (olive oil or sunflower oil)
  • Fresh garlic
  • Sour cream
  • Cheese
  • Fresh herbs

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine 2 cups of all-purpose flour, 1 packet (about 2 ¼ teaspoons) of active dry yeast, and 1 teaspoon of salt. Mix well.
  2. Gradually add ¾ cup of warm water (or milk) to the dry mixture, stirring continuously until a dough forms. If it’s too sticky, add a little more flour.
  3. Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until it’s smooth and elastic. Form it into a ball.
  4. Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover it with a cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until it doubles in size.
  5. Once risen, punch down the dough and divide it into 4-6 equal pieces. Flatten each piece into a circle, about ½ inch thick.
  6. Set your air fryer to 180°C (350°F) and let it preheat for about 5 minutes.
  7. Lightly brush both sides of each dough circle with a bit of oil to help achieve that crispy texture.
  8. Place the shaped dough in the air fryer basket in a single layer, making sure they aren’t crowded. Cook for about 8-10 minutes or until they turn golden brown, flipping them halfway through.
  9. Once cooked, remove the Langos from the air fryer and brush them with crushed garlic mixed with a bit of oil. Top with sour cream, cheese, and fresh herbs before serving.
