Description
Warm, pillowy rings of apple-scented batter that are crisp on the outside and tender inside, made easily in an air fryer.
Ingredients
Scale
- 250 g (2 cups) all-purpose flour
- 10 g (2 tsp) baking powder
- 50 g (1/4 cup) granulated sugar
- 4 g (3/4 tsp) salt
- 2 g (1 tsp) ground cinnamon
- 1 large egg (about 50 g)
- 240 ml (1 cup) whole milk
- 30 g (2 tbsp) unsalted butter, melted
- 240–300 g (2 medium apples), peeled and diced
- 5 ml (1 tsp) vanilla extract
- Neutral oil for spraying
- Optional glaze: 120 g (1 cup) powdered sugar + 15–30 ml (1–2 tbsp) milk + pinch of salt
Instructions
- Dice the apples and measure ingredients.
- Whisk together dry ingredients in a medium bowl.
- In a separate bowl, mix together wet ingredients until combined.
- Combine wet and dry ingredients, and fold in apples; let batter rest for 5 minutes.
- Preheat air fryer to 190°C (375°F) and lightly spray the basket with oil.
- Portion batter into the air fryer basket, leaving space between fritters.
- Air fry for 6 minutes, flip, spritz with oil, and cook for an additional 4–6 minutes until golden brown.
- Remove and glaze if desired; serve warm.
Notes
For best results, avoid overcrowding the air fryer basket to prevent steaming. Use a scale for accurate flour measurement.
