Description

Ingredients

  • 2 large ripe pears, halved and cored
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 cup walnuts, chopped
  • 1/4 cup blue cheese, crumbled
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • Fresh ground black pepper, to taste
  • Fresh thyme, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Brush pear halves with olive oil and place cut side up on a baking sheet.
  3. Bake for 20 minutes until tender.
  4. Sprinkle with walnuts and blue cheese; return to oven for 5 minutes.
  5. Drizzle with honey, add pepper, and garnish. Serve warm.

Notes

For a fall twist, substitute honey with spiced maple syrup. This dish can also be modified for a vegan version using dairy-free cheese and agave syrup.
