Tremendous Loaded Pepperoni Pizza Stromboli


Description

Tremendous Loaded Pepperoni Pizza Stromboli is a delicious twist on traditional pizza. It wraps all the ingredients of your favorite pizza with a golden crisp crust. This simple-to-make recipe is ideal for game day, family meals or any time you want cheesy, delicious food.


Ingredients

  • 1 2 lbs pizza dough (store-bought or made at home)
  • 1/2 cup pizza sauce (plus extra for dipping)
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella  cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup pepperoni sliced
  • Half cup sausage cooked or beef ground (optional)
  • Half cup bell peppers with green beans thinly chopped
  • 1/4 cup olives black, cut (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 egg, whisked (for wash with egg)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (for brushing)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven until 400 degrees F (200degC) and then line the baking tray with parchment or lightly grease the baking sheet.
  2. On a surface that is lightly sprayed with flour you can roll this pizza dough in a big square (about 10-by-14 inches).
  3. Distribute the pizza sauce across the pizza dough. Leave approximately an inch around edges. Spread the cheeses of mozzarella and Parmesan cheese equally on top of the pizza sauce. Include the pepperoni cooked sausage (if you are using) Black olives, green bell peppers and any other toppings you wish to add.
  4. Sprinkle Italian seasoning and garlic powder on the toppings. The dough should be rolled up using one of the long sides, and then tuck into the ends as move to form to form a log.
  5. Lay the stromboli seam-side-down on the baking sheet. The top of the stromboli should be brushed with the egg that has been beat and drizzle it with olive oil to create the golden crust.
  6. Bake for 20-25 minutes and until the stromboli turns golden brown and cheese is bubbling in the middle. Allow it to cool for a couple of minutes before cutting.
  7. Cut the stromboli into large pieces and serve with additional pizza sauce to dip.

Notes

  • Make a mixture of cheeses to add flavor, like provolone or cheddar.
  • You are free to personalize your fillings using your favorite toppings, such as spinach, mushrooms or onions.
  • Be sure that you roll the stromboli in a tight manner to stop the filling from falling out during baking.
