  • 12 pieces Manicotti Shells
  • 15 oz Ricotta Cheese
  • 1 cup Mozzarella Cheese
  • 0.5 cup Parmesan Cheese
  • 1 large Egg
  • 1 tsp Basil
  • 1 tsp Oregano
  • 1 lb Ground Beef
  • 0.5 lb Italian Sausage
  • 1 medium Onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 24 oz Marinara Sauce
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F.
  2. Cook the manicotti shells in boiling salted water until al dente, about 6-7 minutes. Drain and cool them.
  3. Brown the ground beef and Italian sausage in a skillet with chopped onion for about 8 minutes. Drain any excess fat.
  4. Add minced garlic to the skillet and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  5. Stir in the marinara sauce and let it simmer for 10 minutes.
  6. Combine ricotta, 1 cup of mozzarella, Parmesan, egg, basil, oregano, salt, and pepper in a bowl. Mix until smooth.
  7. Spread half of the meat sauce in a baking dish.
  8. Fill the manicotti shells with the ricotta mixture.
  9. Arrange filled shells seam-side down in the baking dish.
  10. Top the manicotti with the remaining meat sauce and reserved mozzarella cheese.
  11. Cover with foil.
  12. Bake for 30 minutes, then uncover and bake an additional 10 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
  13. Let the dish rest for 5 minutes before serving.
