Description

Deliciously fluffy strawberry donuts that are easy to make at home, bursting with fresh strawberry flavor and perfectly glazed.


Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 3/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 3/4 cup cake flour
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1215 strawberries (about 1 cup pureed)
  • Powdered sugar (for glaze)
  • Milk (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Puree strawberries and set aside.
  3. In a bowl, mix butter, sugar, and egg. Add vanilla, buttermilk, and strawberry puree.
  4. In another bowl, combine both flours, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually add dry mixture to wet mixture. Pipe into greased donut tray.
  6. Bake for 7-8 minutes. Cool and glaze with a mixture of powdered sugar and milk.

Notes

Choose ripe strawberries for the best flavor. These donuts are lighter than traditional fried varieties.
