- 4 medium-sized russet potatoes
- 3 tbsp olive oil or melted butter
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp paprika (optional)
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- Optional: 4 slices of bacon, cooked and crumbled
- Optional: 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Wash and scrub the potatoes thoroughly. Slice each potato thinly (about 1/8 inch apart) while leaving the base intact.
- Place the prepared potatoes on your baking sheet. Brush generously with olive oil or melted butter and sprinkle salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika evenly over the top.
- Bake for 40-50 minutes until the edges are golden and crisp.
- Remove from the oven and sprinkle cheese and crumbled bacon (if using) on top. Return to the oven for an additional 5-10 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Garnish with chopped parsley and serve hot.
Notes
For ultra-crispy edges, consider broiling potatoes for the last 2-3 minutes. Serve on a platter for visual appeal.
