Description

Sausage and Egg Casserole is a comforting, hearty breakfast bake made with fluffy eggs, savory sausage, melty cheese, and tender bread or potatoes. Ideal for busy mornings or brunch gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound chicken or turkey breakfast sausage
  • 8 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar or mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup bread cubes or diced cooked potatoes
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • Diced bell peppers
  • Chopped spinach
  • Sliced green onions

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Cook sausage in a skillet over medium heat until fully cooked and lightly browned, breaking into small pieces. Drain excess liquid if needed.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder until smooth.
  3. Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish. Spread bread cubes or potatoes evenly on the bottom. Add cooked sausage and optional vegetables, then sprinkle cheese evenly over the top.
  4. Pour the egg mixture evenly over all ingredients, ensuring everything is well coated.
  5. Bake uncovered for 35–45 minutes until eggs are fully set and the top is lightly golden.
  6. Let casserole rest for 5–10 minutes before slicing and serving.
