Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking dish.
- In a large bowl, cream together the pumpkin purée, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and butter until smooth.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract, mixing well after each addition.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, spices, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips, if using.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Let cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack and cut into squares to serve.
