Description

This Pull Apart Garlic Bread recipe elevates classic garlic bread into a fluffy, buttery delight with a fragrant garlic-herb topping.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup warm water, divided
  • 1 tsp active dry yeast
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 5 tbsp butter
  • 2 large cloves garlic, finely grated or minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley, finely chopped
  • 2 tsp Italian seasoning

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine ½ cup warm water, yeast, and honey. Let sit for 5-10 minutes until the mixture becomes foamy, indicating the yeast is active.
  2. Add the flour, softened butter, and salt to the yeast mixture, stirring to combine. Gradually pour in the remaining ½ cup of warm water, mixing between additions until a dough ball forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for 7-10 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic. Place the dough in a bowl, cover with a dishcloth, and let it rest and rise for about 1 hour or until it doubles in size.
  4. While the dough is rising, melt butter in a saucepan over low heat. Add finely grated garlic, chopped parsley, and Italian seasoning. Stir the mixture and cook for 2 minutes to infuse flavors, then remove from heat.
  5. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Punch down the risen dough and shape it into a 1-inch thick tube. Slice into 1-inch pieces evenly.
  6. Toss the dough pieces thoroughly in the prepared garlic butter mixture to ensure each piece is well coated.
  7. Place the coated dough pieces into a greased 8×4-inch loaf pan, spacing them evenly. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes until the bread is golden brown and cooked through.
  8. Optionally garnish with additional parsley and serve the pull apart garlic bread warm for best flavor and texture.
