- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 12 oz white or dark chocolate, melted
- Green food coloring (optional, for white chocolate)
- Sprinkles, crushed Oreos, or chocolate drizzle
Instructions
- Use a food processor or place the Oreos in a sealed bag and crush them into fine crumbs with a rolling pin until evenly crushed, ensuring there are no large pieces.
- In a large bowl, combine the crushed Oreos with the softened cream cheese. Mix thoroughly until fully combined and the mixture is smooth and homogeneous.
- Roll the mixture into small balls approximately 1-inch in diameter. Place each ball on a parchment-lined baking sheet to prevent sticking.
- Refrigerate the shaped truffles for at least 30 minutes, or alternatively freeze them for 15 minutes to allow them to firm up for easier dipping.
- In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the chocolate in 30-second intervals, stirring well after each until smooth. If using white chocolate, add a few drops of green food coloring to achieve a festive color.
- Dip each chilled truffle into the melted chocolate, coating evenly. Use a fork to lift the truffle out and let any excess chocolate drip off back into the bowl.
- Before the chocolate sets, quickly add sprinkles, crushed Oreos, or drizzle with additional chocolate for decoration.
- Place the coated truffles back in the refrigerator until the chocolate hardens completely, about 15-20 minutes.
- Once set, serve these delightful truffles as a festive and indulgent treat for any occasion.
