Description

A hearty and satisfying dish combining al dente pasta with a rich meat sauce, served in crusty bread bowls.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups tomatoes, chopped (or canned)
  • 12 teaspoons dried herbs (basil, oregano)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 12 oz spaghetti
  • 4 crusty rolls
  • 1/2 cup butter mixed with 2-3 cloves minced garlic (for garlic butter)
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, cook onions and garlic until soft.
  2. Add ground beef and brown.
  3. Stir in chopped tomatoes and herbs; simmer until thickened.
  4. Cook spaghetti separately; toss with sauce.
  5. Prepare bread bowls; fill with pasta and meat sauce, and top with cheese.
  6. Bake until bubbly, serve hot.

Notes

Feel free to substitute ground beef with turkey or add seasonal vegetables to customize your dish.
