- 1 pound ground beef (or turkey for a lighter option)
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 cup finely chopped onion
- 1 beaten egg
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 cup ketchup
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, mix together the ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, chopped onion, beaten egg, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and thyme.
- Shape the mixture into a loaf and place it in a baking dish.
- Spread the ketchup on top.
- Bake for about 1 hour.
- Let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
Notes
You can add finely grated carrots or zucchini into the meat mixture for extra nutrition. Leftovers are fabulous for sandwiches!
