Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef (or turkey for a lighter option)
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1 beaten egg
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 cup ketchup

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, chopped onion, beaten egg, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and thyme.
  3. Shape the mixture into a loaf and place it in a baking dish.
  4. Spread the ketchup on top.
  5. Bake for about 1 hour.
  6. Let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing.

Notes

You can add finely grated carrots or zucchini into the meat mixture for extra nutrition. Leftovers are fabulous for sandwiches!
