Description

A satisfying and healthy casserole loaded with beef, cheese, and classic Philly cheesesteak flavors, but without the carbs.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 cup provolone cheese, torn
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup diced bell peppers
  • 1 cup diced onions
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and spray a 9×13 baking dish with non-stick spray.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add diced onions and bell peppers, cooking for about 5-6 minutes until softened.
  3. Add minced garlic and ground beef to the skillet. Cook for 7-8 minutes until browned, draining excess fat if necessary.
  4. Stir in Worcestershire sauce and cook for 1-2 minutes. Then, reduce heat and add softened cream cheese, stirring until melted.
  5. Transfer the beef mixture into the prepared baking dish. Layer torn provolone over the beef, then top with shredded mozzarella.
  6. Bake for 22-25 minutes until cheese is bubbly and lightly golden. Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

This dish is infinitely customizable; feel free to add vegetables, swap proteins, or change cheeses as desired.
