Description

A quick and delicious low-carb twist on classic bacon cheeseburger flavors, all baked into a hearty casserole.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 6 strips bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream (or substitute)
  • 1 tbsp mustard (optional)
  • 1 tbsp ketchup (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook the bacon in a skillet until crispy. Remove, crumble, and set aside.
  2. Brown the ground beef in the remaining bacon grease, adding onion and garlic until soft. Season with smoked paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. Stir in softened cream cheese until melted, and mix in crumbled bacon.
  4. In a bowl, whisk together eggs, heavy cream, mustard, and ketchup, then stir in half of each type of cheese.
  5. Spread the beef mixture into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish and pour the egg mixture over it. Top with remaining cheese.
  6. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 25-30 minutes until the center is set and the top is golden.
  7. Allow to cool slightly before slicing. Garnish as desired.

Notes
