Description

Experience the rich, creamy flavor of traditional Kashmiri Pink Tea with its stunning pink hue, perfect for cozy gatherings.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups of water
  • 2 tablespoons of Kashmiri Himalayan Green Tea
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 12 pods of star anise
  • 2 crushed cardamom pods
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups of whole milk (or almond milk for a vegan option)
  • Sugar or honey to taste
  • Crushed nuts (optional for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Gather all the ingredients and crush the cardamom pods if not done yet.
  2. In a saucepan, bring 4 cups of water to a rolling boil.
  3. Add 2 tablespoons of green tea into the water and allow it to steep for about 5 minutes.
  4. Stir in the baking soda and boil for an additional 2 minutes.
  5. Add the star anise, crushed cardamom pods, and cinnamon stick; let simmer for 1 minute.
  6. Reduce heat and allow the tea to simmer for 20-30 minutes, enhancing the flavors.
  7. Add 1/4 teaspoon of salt and gradually stir in the 2 cups of milk, bringing to a gentle boil.
  8. Once the tea takes on a beautiful pink hue, remove from heat.
  9. Strain the tea into cups, sweeten with sugar or honey, and garnish with crushed nuts.

Notes

For a vegan version, substitute whole milk with almond milk or coconut milk. Adjust sweetness to taste with honey or sugar.
