Instructions
- Rinse and pat the chicken breasts dry. Place them in the bottom of your slow cooker.
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook the chopped bacon until crispy. Remove with a slotted spoon and set aside, leaving the drippings.
- In the same skillet, combine brown sugar, soy sauce, minced garlic, black pepper, salt, and red pepper flakes (if using). Stir until well combined and the sugar starts to dissolve.
- Pour the sauce over the chicken breasts, ensuring they are coated well.
- Sprinkle the cooked bacon on top of the chicken in the slow cooker.
- Cover and cook on low for 4-6 hours or on high for 2-3 hours. The chicken should be tender and cooked through.
- If you prefer a thicker sauce, remove the chicken once it’s cooked. Whisk cornstarch into a small amount of water and stir it into the sauce. Cook on high for an additional 15-20 minutes until thickened.
- Once ready to serve, garnish with chopped fresh parsley if desired.
