Description

An irresistible, rich butter cake with a gooey center that’s incredibly easy to make.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven and grease a baking pan.
  2. Cream the butter and sugar together until pale and soft.
  3. Add the eggs and vanilla, mixing well.
  4. Stir in the flour and salt until combined; the batter should be thick but smooth.
  5. Spread the batter evenly in the prepared pan.
  6. Bake until the top is set but the center jiggles slightly when tapped.
  7. Do not overbake to ensure a gooey center.
