Ingredients
Scale
- 4 cups All-Purpose Flour (Can substitute with gluten-free flour.)
- 2 teaspoons Active Dry Yeast (Ensure it’s fresh for best results.)
- 3 tablespoons Sugar (Brown sugar adds richer flavor.)
- 1 teaspoon Baking Powder (Essential for fluffy buns.)
- 1 cup Milk (Non-dairy milk can be used.)
- 2 tablespoons Vegetable Oil (Any neutral oil can replace.)
- 1 pound Pork Belly/Chicken/Tofu (Choose based on taste preference.)
- 2 cups Vegetables (Cabbage/Carrots) (Use seasonal or your preferred veggies.)
- 3 tablespoons Sauces (Soy Sauce, Sriracha, Hoisin) (Adjust according to spice preference.)
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, blend all-purpose flour, sugar, salt, and active dry yeast. Gradually incorporate warm milk to form a soft dough, ensuring all ingredients are well mixed.
- Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead it for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the kneaded dough in a lightly oiled bowl and cover it with a cloth. Allow it to rise in a warm area for about 1 hour.
- Once risen, punch down the dough, divide it into equal portions, and roll each piece into small circles.
- Cook your choice of protein with soy sauce and Sriracha until caramelized, then add chopped vegetables.
- Fill each dough circle with some filling, fold to enclose, and steam in a lined bamboo steamer for about 15 minutes.
