Description

A classic, thirst-quenching beverage that’s perfect for any occasion, refreshing and easy to make.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (about 46 lemons)
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 5 cups cold water
  • Lemon slices and fresh mint for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Juice those lemons: Roll lemons on the countertop and cut them in half to squeeze over a measuring cup. Aim for about one cup of lemon juice.
  2. Mix sugar and lemon juice: In a jug, combine lemon juice and sugar. Stir until sugar dissolves.
  3. Add water: Gradually mix in cold water. Stir and adjust sweetness if necessary.
  4. Chill out: Refrigerate for about 30 minutes or serve immediately over ice.
  5. Serve and enjoy: Pour lemonade into glasses and enjoy!

Notes

For extra zing, add a teaspoon of lemon zest. Substitute sugar with honey, agave, or any sweetener you prefer. Freeze lemonade in ice cube trays for an extra chill.
