Description
This ultimate homemade waffle recipe yields crispy, fluffy waffles perfect for any breakfast or brunch occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2¼ cups all-purpose flour (270g)
- ¼ cup granulated sugar (50g)
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- ¾ teaspoon salt
- 2 cups milk (480ml)
- ½ cup unsalted butter, melted (113g)
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
Instructions
- Heat your waffle iron to the right temperature.
- In a big bowl, mix the dry ingredients: flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, whisk together the wet ingredients: milk, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix gently until just combined; the batter should still be a bit lumpy.
- Grease the hot waffle iron with butter or spray, then pour about 1/3 cup of batter into the center.
- Close the waffle iron and cook until golden and crispy, about 3-5 minutes.
- Remove the waffles and place them on a wire rack to keep them crisp. Repeat with remaining batter.
- Serve warm with your favorite toppings such as maple syrup, fresh fruit, or whipped cream.
Notes
For best results, use room temperature eggs and avoid overmixing the batter to keep your waffles fluffy.
