Description

Honey Garlic Turkey Meatballs are a delicious and easy dish packed with flavor.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (preferably whole wheat)
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley (chopped)
  • 1 clove garlic (minced)
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce (or low-sodium soy sauce)
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 teaspoon ginger (grated)
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch (mixed with 2 tablespoons water to create a slurry)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the ground turkey, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, parsley, minced garlic, egg, salt, pepper, and onion powder. Mix until just combined; do not overmix.
  3. Shape the mixture into meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter, and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  4. Bake the meatballs in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until they are cooked through and golden brown.
  5. In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, and grated ginger. Stir and bring to a simmer.
  6. Add the cornstarch slurry to the sauce, stirring continuously until the sauce thickens, about 1-2 minutes.
  7. Once the meatballs are done baking, transfer them to a large bowl and pour the honey garlic sauce over them. Toss gently to coat the meatballs evenly.
  8. Serve the honey garlic turkey meatballs warm, garnished with additional chopped parsley or sesame seeds if desired. They can be served on their own, over rice, or with vegetables.

Notes

  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • These meatballs freeze well; freeze them before adding the sauce.
