Description

A traditional Margherita pizza with fresh tomatoes, mozzarella, and basil.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 3/4 cup warm water
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • 8 ounces fresh mozzarella, sliced
  • Fresh basil leaves
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 475°F (245°C).
  2. Mix flour, salt, sugar, and yeast in a bowl.
  3. Add warm water and olive oil, then knead to form a dough.
  4. Let the dough rise for 30 minutes.
  5. Roll out the dough on a floured surface.
  6. Spread tomato sauce evenly on the dough.
  7. Top with mozzarella and basil leaves.
  8. Bake in the oven for 15 minutes or until golden brown.

Notes

For a crispier crust, bake on a pizza stone.
