- 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 3 tablespoons honey
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 teaspoon paprika (optional)
- 1 cup elbow macaroni
- 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- ½ cup milk
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- ½ teaspoon mustard powder (optional)
Instructions
- Season the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, and paprika (if using).
- In a skillet over medium heat, add the butter. Once melted, add the chicken breasts and cook for 6-7 minutes on each side, or until cooked through and golden brown.
- In a small bowl, mix honey, soy sauce, and minced garlic. Once the chicken is cooked, pour the sauce over the chicken in the skillet.
- Let the sauce simmer for about 5 minutes, allowing it to thicken slightly and coat the chicken.
- Remove from heat and let it rest for a few minutes before slicing.
- In a pot of boiling salted water, cook the elbow macaroni according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In the same pot, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Stir in the flour and cook for about 1 minute until lightly golden.
- Slowly whisk in the milk, stirring continuously until the mixture thickens.
- Remove from heat and stir in the shredded cheddar cheese until melted and smooth. Season with salt, pepper, and mustard powder (if using).
- Fold the cooked macaroni into the cheese sauce until well coated.
