Description

Easy Honey Garlic Butter Chicken & Mac & Cheese for Two is a delightful recipe that combines tender chicken with a sweet and savory sauce served alongside creamy macaroni and cheese.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 teaspoon paprika (optional)
  • 1 cup elbow macaroni
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • ½ teaspoon mustard powder (optional)

Instructions

  1. Season the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, and paprika (if using).
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, add the butter. Once melted, add the chicken breasts and cook for 6-7 minutes on each side, or until cooked through and golden brown.
  3. In a small bowl, mix honey, soy sauce, and minced garlic. Once the chicken is cooked, pour the sauce over the chicken in the skillet.
  4. Let the sauce simmer for about 5 minutes, allowing it to thicken slightly and coat the chicken.
  5. Remove from heat and let it rest for a few minutes before slicing.
  6. In a pot of boiling salted water, cook the elbow macaroni according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  7. In the same pot, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Stir in the flour and cook for about 1 minute until lightly golden.
  8. Slowly whisk in the milk, stirring continuously until the mixture thickens.
  9. Remove from heat and stir in the shredded cheddar cheese until melted and smooth. Season with salt, pepper, and mustard powder (if using).
  10. Fold the cooked macaroni into the cheese sauce until well coated.
