Delicious Heart Shaped Churros to Sweeten Your Day


Ingredients

  • 1 cup water
  • 1.5 Tablespoons sugar
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 2 Tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • oil for frying
  • 0.5 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Combine water, sugar, salt, and vegetable oil in a saucepan. Heat until boiling, then remove from heat and stir in flour.
  2. Allow the dough to rest for about 10-15 minutes.
  3. Mix sugar and ground cinnamon in a pie plate for coating and set aside.
  4. Line a plate with paper towels for draining excess oil after frying.
  5. Fill a medium saucepan with 2 inches of vegetable oil and heat to 350°F.
  6. Spoon the dough into a pastry bag fitted with a star tip.
  7. Pipe out 5-6 inch strips of dough onto parchment paper.
  8. Once the oil is hot, lower the dough into the oil carefully and fry for 2-4 minutes until light golden brown, flipping halfway through.
  9. Lift churros from oil with a slotted spatula and place on paper towels to drain, then toss in the cinnamon sugar mix.
