Ingredients

- 1 cup water
- 1.5 Tablespoons sugar
- 0.5 teaspoon salt
- 2 Tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- oil for frying
- 0.5 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Instructions
- Combine water, sugar, salt, and vegetable oil in a saucepan. Heat until boiling, then remove from heat and stir in flour.
- Allow the dough to rest for about 10-15 minutes.
- Mix sugar and ground cinnamon in a pie plate for coating and set aside.
- Line a plate with paper towels for draining excess oil after frying.
- Fill a medium saucepan with 2 inches of vegetable oil and heat to 350°F.
- Spoon the dough into a pastry bag fitted with a star tip.
- Pipe out 5-6 inch strips of dough onto parchment paper.
- Once the oil is hot, lower the dough into the oil carefully and fry for 2-4 minutes until light golden brown, flipping halfway through.
- Lift churros from oil with a slotted spatula and place on paper towels to drain, then toss in the cinnamon sugar mix.
