Description

Ingredients

  • 1 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 cup granulated sugar

  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • Black or deep purple food coloring

Instructions

  1. Gather all ingredients.
  2. Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C).
  3. In a bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and baking soda.
  4. In another bowl, mix eggs, sugar, milk, and vanilla until combined.
  5. Gradually fold dry ingredients into wet mixture until just combined.
  6. Fill cupcake liners 2/3 full with batter.
  7. Bake for 18–20 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Allow to cool completely on wire racks before frosting.
