Description

A rich and fudgy chocolate cake filled with creamy pecan-studded goodness, perfect for special occasions.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 box (18.25 oz) chocolate cake mix
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) melted butter
  • 1 large egg
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup finely chopped pecans

Instructions

  1. Mix chocolate cake mix, melted butter, and egg in a bowl until smooth. Press into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Beat the cream cheese until smooth, then add eggs one at a time, beating well after each. Stir in vanilla and melted butter.
  3. Gradually mix in powdered sugar and cocoa powder until silky smooth. Fold in chopped pecans.
  4. Spread the filling evenly over the crust and sprinkle remaining pecans on top.
  5. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 40-45 minutes until the center is slightly gooey.
  6. Let the cake cool completely before slicing and serving.

Notes

For added richness, consider using high-quality chocolate and butter. Do not overbake to maintain gooeyness.
