Instructions

- Mix dry ingredients: sift flour, remaining sugar, and salt in a bowl.
- Incorporate butter into the dry ingredients.
- Add the egg and yeast mixture to form a smooth dough.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface until springy.
- Let the dough rise in a warm place for 1 hour.
- Shape the doughnuts and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
- Fry the doughnuts in batches until golden brown.
- Prepare the glaze by melting butter and mixing it with confectioners sugar, vanilla extract, and hot water.
- Glaze the warm doughnuts and place them on a wire rack to set.
- Serve immediately.

For a dairy-free version, substitute milk and butter with almond milk and coconut oil. Consider adding sprinkles or other toppings for customization.
