Description

An irresistible Garlic Parmesan Herb Bread recipe that’s easy to bake at home, filled with garlic and fresh herbs for a perfect addition to any meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 tablespoon instant yeast
  • 1 cup warm water (110°F/45°C)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh herbs (parsley, thyme, rosemary)

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast, letting the mixture sit for 5-10 minutes until foamy.
  2. Add the all-purpose flour, salt, and olive oil to the yeast mixture. Using a wooden spoon or stand mixer, mix until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough by hand for about 8-10 minutes or use a stand mixer with a dough hook for about 5-6 minutes until the dough is elastic and smooth.
  4. Place the dough in an oiled bowl, cover it with a kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm spot until doubled in size (1-2 hours).
  5. Punch down the dough gently and shape it into a loaf or desired form. Place it onto a greased baking sheet or into a loaf pan.
  6. In a small bowl, mix the minced garlic, Parmesan cheese, and chopped fresh herbs.
  7. Brush the shaped dough with olive oil and sprinkle the garlic-Parmesan-herb mixture on top.
  8. Let the dough rise again, covered, for about 30-40 minutes while preheating your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  9. Bake the bread for approximately 20-25 minutes or until the crust is golden brown.
  10. Let the bread cool slightly before slicing into thick pieces and serving.

Notes

For best results, use warm water to activate the yeast properly and avoid over-mixing the dough during preparation.
