Description
An irresistible Garlic Parmesan Herb Bread recipe that’s easy to bake at home, filled with garlic and fresh herbs for a perfect addition to any meal.
Ingredients
Scale
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1 tablespoon instant yeast
- 1 cup warm water (110°F/45°C)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh herbs (parsley, thyme, rosemary)
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast, letting the mixture sit for 5-10 minutes until foamy.
- Add the all-purpose flour, salt, and olive oil to the yeast mixture. Using a wooden spoon or stand mixer, mix until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough by hand for about 8-10 minutes or use a stand mixer with a dough hook for about 5-6 minutes until the dough is elastic and smooth.
- Place the dough in an oiled bowl, cover it with a kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm spot until doubled in size (1-2 hours).
- Punch down the dough gently and shape it into a loaf or desired form. Place it onto a greased baking sheet or into a loaf pan.
- In a small bowl, mix the minced garlic, Parmesan cheese, and chopped fresh herbs.
- Brush the shaped dough with olive oil and sprinkle the garlic-Parmesan-herb mixture on top.
- Let the dough rise again, covered, for about 30-40 minutes while preheating your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Bake the bread for approximately 20-25 minutes or until the crust is golden brown.
- Let the bread cool slightly before slicing into thick pieces and serving.
Notes
For best results, use warm water to activate the yeast properly and avoid over-mixing the dough during preparation.
