Beef Rice Bowl

Easy Beef Rice Bowl for Busy Lives

Description

Hey there, culinary adventurers! If you’re anything like me, juggling a busy schedule while trying to whip up delicious meals can sometimes feel like a high-wire act without a safety net. That’s why I’m excited to share this amazing recipe for a Beef Rice Bowl with you! It’s a one-bowl wonder that’s not only super easy to prepare but is also bursting with flavors that will make your taste buds dance.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef (80/20)
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce or tamari
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 teaspoon ginger (minced)
  • 2 green onions (chopped + extra for garnish)
  • Salt and pepper (to taste)
  • 2 cups cooked rice (jasmine, basmati, or brown rice)
  • Optional toppings: sesame seeds, sliced cucumber, kimchi, or pickled vegetables
  • Optional vegetables: bell peppers, carrots, broccoli, or spinach
  • Egg (for a fried egg on top)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Rice : Fisrt of all, whether you’re using a pot on the stove, a rice cooker, or an Instant Pot, getting the rice ready is simple. If you’re going the traditional route, rinse 1 cup of rice until the water runs clear. Second of all, combine it with 2 cups of water in a pot. Bring it to a boil, reduce the heat to low, cover, and let it simmer for about 15 minutes. For a rice cooker, follow the manufacturer’s simple instructions. If you’re feeling fancy with your Instant Pot, just combine rinsed rice and water, seal the lid, and cook on high pressure for 3 minutes. Third of all, let it sit for a natural release, and voilà—you’ve got perfectly fluffy rice finally!
  2. Cook the Ground Beef : Then, heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef, breaking it apart as it cooks until it’s no longer pink—about 5-7 minutes. Feel free to drain any excess fat at this point (unless you want to keep it for flavor—your call!). Then you can stir in the minced garlic and ginger, cooking for another 1-2 minutes until your kitchen smells like a gourmet restaurant.
  3. Season It Up : After that, it’s time to make it scrumptious! Stir in the soy sauce, sesame oil, and chopped green onions. Season with a sprinkle of salt and pepper, and let it simmer for a couple of minutes to meld those flavors together. Seriously, take a moment here to just inhale the deliciousness!
  4. Assemble the Bowl : Lastly, grab a large bowl (or a fancy plate, if you’re feeling posh). Start with a generous scoop of the fluffy rice as your base. Layer on your luscious ground beef mixture followed by any extra veggies you fancy (think steamed broccoli or vibrant bell peppers). Finally, sprinkle on sesame seeds and extra green onions, and if you’re up for it, you can even crown it with a perfectly fried egg. Major chef points!

Notes

  • Don’t stress if your sauce looks a little lumpy—that’s just part of the flavor magic!
  • If you’re craving some extra crunch, toss in some nuts or seeds for a satisfying texture contrast.
  • The Beef Rice Bowl is fantastic for meal prep! Make a double batch and enjoy it throughout the week.
