Description
A nostalgic summer dessert that combines the creamy goodness of ice cream with the fizzy flavor of Dr. Pepper.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup Dr. Pepper (or similar soda)
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1 cup sweetened condensed milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- A pinch of salt
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the heavy cream, sweetened condensed milk, vanilla extract, and salt. Whisk until smooth.
- Gently fold in the Dr. Pepper, taking care to keep the fizz.
- Pour the mixture into an ice cream maker, or a freezer-safe bowl if you do not have one.
- If using an ice cream maker, churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions until it reaches soft-serve consistency. If using a freezer, cover and freeze, stirring every 30 minutes for the first couple of hours. Freeze for 4-6 hours until firm.
- Scoop out the Dr. Pepper ice cream and serve. Optional: Drizzle chocolate syrup or sprinkle crushed ice on top.
Notes
Feel free to experiment with other sodas or add mix-ins like crushed cookies or chocolate chips for extra flavor and texture.
