Description

A nostalgic summer dessert that combines the creamy goodness of ice cream with the fizzy flavor of Dr. Pepper.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup Dr. Pepper (or similar soda)
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • A pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the heavy cream, sweetened condensed milk, vanilla extract, and salt. Whisk until smooth.
  2. Gently fold in the Dr. Pepper, taking care to keep the fizz.
  3. Pour the mixture into an ice cream maker, or a freezer-safe bowl if you do not have one.
  4. If using an ice cream maker, churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions until it reaches soft-serve consistency. If using a freezer, cover and freeze, stirring every 30 minutes for the first couple of hours. Freeze for 4-6 hours until firm.
  5. Scoop out the Dr. Pepper ice cream and serve. Optional: Drizzle chocolate syrup or sprinkle crushed ice on top.

Notes

Feel free to experiment with other sodas or add mix-ins like crushed cookies or chocolate chips for extra flavor and texture.
