Description

Indulge in these Double Chocolate Salted Caramel Cookies that offer a rich blend of chocolate and gooey caramel, perfect for sharing or savoring alone.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups All-Purpose Flour (Gluten-free flour can be used.)
  • 3/4 cup Unsweetened Cocoa Powder (Opt for high-quality for best results.)
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Soda (Ensure freshness for optimal rise.)
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt (Omit if using salted butter.)
  • 1 cup Unsalted Butter (Ensure it’s at room temperature.)
  • 1 cup Granulated Sugar (Avoid brown sugar for crunchier cookies.)
  • 1/2 cup Light Brown Sugar (Dark brown sugar can deepen flavor.)
  • 2 large Eggs (Room temperature is best for mixing.)
  • 2 teaspoons Vanilla Extract (Try vanilla bean for a richer taste.)
  • 1 cup Semi-Sweet or Milk Chocolate Chips (Dark chocolate offers a richer profile.)
  • 3/4 cup Caramel Flavored Chips (Homemade caramel can be used.)
  • 1 teaspoon Sea Salt Flakes (Regular salt can work, but won’t have the same effect.)
  • 1/2 cup Caramel Sauce or Dulce de Leche (Drizzle for extra sweetness.)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line two cookie sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the eggs and vanilla extract, mixing until fully combined.
  5. Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until just combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips and caramel chips until evenly distributed.
  7. Scoop the dough onto the prepared cookie sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  8. Sprinkle the tops with sea salt flakes and bake for 8-10 minutes.
  9. Remove from the oven and allow to cool slightly before transferring to wire racks.
