- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt

Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Line your cupcake tray with liners.
- Cream together sugar and butter until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla extract.
- Sift together flour, baking powder, and salt in another bowl.
- Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with milk.
- Fill liners about 2/3 full with batter.
- Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Allow to cool completely on a wire rack, then frost and decorate.

For vegan options, substitute eggs and dairy with flax eggs and almond milk.
