Crispy Gluten Free Roast Potatoes: Elevate Your Side Dish Game


Ingredients

  • 4 large King Edward Potatoes (or substitute with Maris Piper, Yukon Gold, or Russet)
  • to taste tbsp Salt Flakes
  • 4 tbsp Vegetable Oil (or goose fat for added flavor)
  • 1 tsp Bicarbonate of Soda
  • 2 cloves Garlic Cloves (optional)
  • 1 sprig Rosemary (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C / Fan 180°C / Gas Mark 6.
  2. Prepare the potatoes by peeling and cutting them to your desired size.
  3. Boil a pot of salted water, adding bicarbonate of soda, then gently introduce the potatoes for 5-7 minutes.
  4. Heat a baking tin with vegetable oil (and optional garlic/rosemary) inside the oven for 10-15 minutes.
  5. Drain the potatoes, then shake them in a colander to roughen the edges.
  6. Carefully add the potatoes to the hot oil, ensuring they are well-coated.
  7. Roast for 20 minutes, then turn the potatoes and roast for an additional 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Serve immediately, sprinkled with salt.
