- 1 tablespoon Lemon juice (Freshly squeezed for best flavor)
Instructions
- Soak the fresh oysters in buttermilk for 10 minutes.
- In a shallow bowl, mix cornmeal, all-purpose flour, cayenne pepper, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
- Dredge the oysters individually in the seasoned cornmeal mixture.
- Heat vegetable oil in a deep skillet to 350°F (175°C).
- Fry oysters for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown.
- Transfer fried oysters to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
- Whisk together mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, hot sauce, and lemon juice until smooth for remoulade.
- Serve crispy fried oysters hot with remoulade sauce on the side.
