- 2 cups Heavy Cream
- 1 cup Milk
- 4 large Eggs
- 1/2 cup Granulated Sugar
- 2 teaspoons Vanilla Extract
- 1 teaspoon Ground Cinnamon
- 1 pinch Salt
- 1/4 cup Granulated Sugar
Instructions
- Cut the brioche or challah into 1-inch thick slices.
- In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, heavy cream, sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt until smooth and frothy.
- Pour the custard over the bread slices, ensuring each piece is well-coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, preferably overnight.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Let the dish sit for 15 minutes before baking uncovered for 25-30 minutes.
- Sprinkle granulated sugar on top of the baked French toast and caramelize using a kitchen torch until golden amber.
