Description

A comforting delight featuring rich flavors of creamy sauce paired with crispy bacon, perfect for family gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 1 small head of cabbage, chopped
  • 4 slices of bacon, chopped
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook the chopped bacon in a skillet over medium heat until crispy.
  3. Sauté the chopped cabbage in the remaining bacon fat until slightly tender.
  4. Mix the sour cream, half of the cheddar cheese, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
  5. Layer cabbage and bacon in a baking dish, pour sour cream mixture on top.
  6. Sprinkle remaining cheese and breadcrumbs, drizzle with melted butter.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes until bubbly and golden.
  8. Allow cooling for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

For a healthier option, use Greek yogurt instead of sour cream.
