- 1 pound green beans cut and trimmed into bite-size pieces
- One pound of baby potatoes cut in half or quarters
- 6 strips bacon, diced
- One packet of ranch spice mix (1 1 ounce)
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 2 Tablespoons Olive Oil
- 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon powdered onion
- Pepper and salt, according to your taste
Instructions
- In a large pan or Dutch oven prepare the bacon in dices on medium-low heat until crisp. Remove the bacon using a spoon that is slotted and put aside with some bacon grease in the skillet.
- Pour olive oil into that bacon grease in the pan. Add the potatoes, and cook for about 5-7 minutes until they begin to become brown.
- In the same pan, add the beans along with the potatoes, and cook for another 3-4 mins with a stirring every now and then.
- Add the Ranch seasoning mixture, garlic powder as well as onion powder on the vegetables, and mix to coat evenly.
- Pour into the broth of chicken and bring it to a boil then cover and cook for about 15 minutes, or until the potatoes are soft while the green beans cook.
- Incorporate the cooked bacon and sprinkle by adding salt and pepper as desired.
- Serve warm for a tasty dinner dish.
Notes
- For a more flavorful boost for a boost in flavor, add a teaspoon of chopped red pepperflakes into the dish.
- If you prefer a crisper texture, cook the dish in the oven for a few minutes prior to serving.
