- 8 slices French Bread (cut 1 inch thick)
- 4 cups Cornflakes
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 4 large eggs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil for frying
- 2 tablespoons butter for frying
Instructions
- Crush cornflakes in a Ziploc bag.
- Mix sugar and cinnamon with crushed cornflakes.
- Whisk eggs, milk, and vanilla in a bowl.
- Heat oil and butter in a skillet over medium heat.
- Dip bread into egg mixture and then into cornflakes.
- Fry in the skillet until golden on both sides.
- Serve hot with your favorite toppings!
Notes
For a fun twist, try adding nutmeg or cardamom. Works great with various types of bread and milk substitutes.
