Description

A quick and delicious twist on a breakfast classic, featuring crispy cornflake-coated French toast.


Ingredients

  • 8 slices French Bread (cut 1 inch thick)
  • 4 cups Cornflakes
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil for frying
  • 2 tablespoons butter for frying

Instructions

  1. Crush cornflakes in a Ziploc bag.
  2. Mix sugar and cinnamon with crushed cornflakes.
  3. Whisk eggs, milk, and vanilla in a bowl.
  4. Heat oil and butter in a skillet over medium heat.
  5. Dip bread into egg mixture and then into cornflakes.
  6. Fry in the skillet until golden on both sides.
  7. Serve hot with your favorite toppings!

Notes

For a fun twist, try adding nutmeg or cardamom. Works great with various types of bread and milk substitutes.
