Ingredients
Scale
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
- Green frosting (homemade or store-bought)
- Mini candy canes (halved for tree trunks)
- Rainbow sprinkles
- Star sprinkles or yellow candy stars
Instructions
- Set oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- In a microwave-safe bowl, melt butter. Stir in sugar, eggs, and vanilla until smooth. Add cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder. Mix until combined.
- Pour batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly. Bake for 20–25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out with a few moist crumbs. Let cool completely, then chill for clean cuts.
- Cut the brownie square in half horizontally, then slice each half into diagonal triangles. Insert half a mini candy cane into the base of each as the trunk.
- Pipe green frosting in zigzags, add sprinkles for ornaments, and top with a candy star. Serve and enjoy!
