Ingredients
Scale
- 2 ¼ cups (280g) all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- ½ tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp salt
- ¾ cup (170g) unsalted butter, softened
- ¾ cup (150g) light brown sugar
- ½ cup (100g) granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 ¼ cups (200g) semisweet chocolate chips
- ½ cup peanut butter chips (or swirls of peanut butter)
- Optional: ½ cup chocolate chunks or chopped dark chocolate
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
- In a large bowl, cream the softened butter with brown and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla extract.
- Slowly add the dry mixture into the wet, mixing just until combined.
- Gently stir in chocolate chips, chunks, and peanut butter elements.
- Use a large scoop to portion dough onto trays, spacing well apart. Optional: Add more chips or a swirl of peanut butter on top.
- For even better results, chill the dough for 30 minutes before baking.
- Bake for 12–14 minutes or until the edges are golden and centers are soft. Let cool on the tray for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
Notes
- Chilling the dough helps prevent overspreading and improves texture.
- For a gourmet look, press extra chips or flaky salt on top before baking.
- Switch to almond or sunflower seed butter for peanut-free variations.
- Freeze unbaked dough balls for fresh cookies anytime.
- Gift jumbo cookies in cellophane with twine and custom labels.
