- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 cup chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a muffin tin with paper liners.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt until well combined.
- In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with the buttermilk. Mix just until combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips gently until evenly distributed.
- Fill each muffin cup about two-thirds full.
- Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Allow the muffins to cool in the tin for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
Use room temperature ingredients for best results. Avoid overmixing the batter to prevent dense muffins.
