Ingredients

  • 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup fresh cherries, pitted and chopped
  • 1 tube (8 oz) crescent roll dough
  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 egg wash (1 egg beaten with 1 Tbsp water)
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese (or cream cheese for a richer flavor)
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a bowl, combine ricotta cheese, granulated sugar, lemon juice, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth.
  3. Open the tube of crescent roll dough and press it out flat onto a parchment-lined baking sheet, sealing the perforations.
  4. Spread the cheese mixture evenly over the dough, leaving a 1-inch border. Top with chopped cherries.
  5. Fold the edges of the dough over the filling, leaving an open center. Brush with egg wash.
  6. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Let cool for a few minutes, drizzle powdered sugar over the top, slice, and serve.
