- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 lb sirloin, cut into chunks
- 4 oz bacon
- 2 tbsp tallow or reserved bacon grease
- 2 cups beef broth
- Optional spices: cayenne pepper, cumin
- Optional add-ins: bell peppers, onions
- Optional toppings: shredded cheese, sour cream, extra crumbled bacon
Instructions
- Cook the bacon until crispy, then set aside and reserve some grease.
- Preheat the Dutch oven, add the reserved fat, and sear the sirloin chunks for 2-3 minutes until browned, then set aside.
- Add ground beef to the pot, breaking it apart with a spoon, and cook for about 15 minutes until browned.
- Return the sirloin to the pot, pour in beef broth, and bring to a boil before reducing to a simmer.
- Crumble in the bacon and adjust seasoning as necessary.
- Serve with your choice of toppings and enjoy!
